What happens during a lost pet emergency
If a pet is lost
- If a pet becomes lost, the pet parent should notify 24Petwatch online. One of our Lost Pet Recovery Specialists will run a real-time search of all animals reported found in our database.
- If a pet is found and scanned for a microchip, 24Petwatch will notify the pet parent.
- Then, the pet parent can arrange with the finder to be reunited with their pet!
If a pet is found
- The finder can use the plastic collar tag provided with every 24Petwatch microchip to call our Lost Pet Recovery Service team via the toll-free number.
- If the person who found the animal is unsure of the microchip number, they can take the animal to a vet clinic, shelter, or rescue to be scanned. Once scanned, the staff will contact 24Petwatch.
- Then, 24Petwatch will contact the owner to inform them that their pet has been found and help facilitate their reunion.
